Modernization of Education
Saturday, 10 July 2010 18:00

On 6 July, 2010, the Verkhovna Rada approved the bill “On Amending the Legislative Acts of Ukraine on General Secondary and Pre-School Education
Concerning the Organization of the Educational Process)” in general. The document establishes mandatory pre-school education of children of the senior pre-school age and introduces 11-year general secondary education instead of 12-year school term.
according to Tabachnyk, there are no plans to substitute schoolbooks for the next academic year. As for the burden on schoolchildren, no radical changes are expected, since curriculums can be easily cut to 11-year education by reducing the curriculum for the 12th class that mostly provides for the review of lessons learnt.
